Semester 1 in Graphic Design

This weeks study is about a set of 8 Icons or symbols, what they're used for and where they are commonly found. What colour is used and the message its meant to represent. The icons I will be studying are found on the train I take every day to get to university and back home. These are rules and notices that can be seen throughout the train. This first image has two icons. The first (left) icon is an informative icon, it informs those that use hearing aids that there are services available for them on the train. These two icons are found near the entry along the top of the train walls. I found it difficult to understand what this icon meant, I initially thought it meant that there is no support for the deaf in the train, however, now knowing that it means that the train supports those with a hearing impairment has changed my understanding of this sign. This week's blog is all about studying a celebrity or well-known influencer on social media and write up about them and what makes them interesting to engage with. I then need to create a fictional persona based on my findings and develop graphical work that supports this persona. I have decided to study Mark Hamill. He is a 69-year-old male actor and producer who is most known for his acting performances in the Star Wars stories starting back in 1977. He has gone on to do more than just perform in Star Wars franchise, he has a long history of voice acting throughout his career. What I have found from his Instagram and Twitter accounts is that he is very famous with 5.1 million followers on Instagram and 3.6 million on Twitter. He has a positive and honest personality on his accounts, his slogan is "Believe in yourself! Work Hard, Never Give Up & Anything's Possible! Welcome to week 4s topic, Me. This week is a write up about me as a designer, how I am starting out with my new career path in graphic design and some of my history. I am a current student at Media Design School (MDS) studying in Graphic design. I am interested in comic books, video games, art, and miniature painting.   I have studied the Bachelor's degree in Creative Technology majoring in Game Art at MDS. The bachelor's course taught me to work as part of a development team, under tight deadlines. I am confident in both traditional and digital drawing, using pencil, paint and Photoshop. I know how to use 3D programs such as Autodesk Maya, 3DSMax and ZBrush where I have created and animated 3D models for video games. I completed the Bachelor's course in 2016, I found work afterwards at KFC, Boston wardrobes and later on at Gunnersens.
